Where did Tiger Woods go??
I think it is real funny how our culture gets so wrapped up in a given topic and then after it has lost its appeal we throw it away. Tiger Woods has been the hot topic for the past month or even longer. Even national news was covering the story. Everyday we were updated with new women that said they slept with Tiger. We followed him through his sex rehab. Now, he has completely disappeared from the media. What happened? How does this occur that we become so engulfed with a given topic and then all of a sudden it is just over. I feel like this supports the notion that these type of occurrences are sensationalized and what is represented of them is far from reality.

I agree! Its all about the current news in our society. We want the latest gossip, and once it gets old, we move on to something new. This seems to work out well for those who end up as the unfortunate victims of gossip and tabloids.
ReplyDeleteI did recently hear something about Tiger on the radio. The station announcer mentioned that he is currently practicing around 16 hours a day for an upcoming tournament, which has made his wife angry. Tiger's people want her to be at the tournament showing support for him (thus helping his image, by showing their relationship doing better), but she isn't fully agreeing to yet because she's mad at him about spending that much time practicing. Or something like that. But otherwise, he did pretty much fall off the face of the earth!
I think it is stupid how we expect celebrities to apologize when they do something society determines is wrong. If we don't get our official scripted apology, we're pissed! But it isn't real, and we all know that. I wish society would leave celebrities alone until they made the personal decision to apologize to their fans. When we heard about Tiger, didn't we all want him to come forward and say something about it/apologize for his behavior? Doesn't anyone else think it is foolish?
